How it Works...

Plateful's Fall CSA subscription fee is a nonrefundable $350 for 10 weeks of produce, eggs, pantry staples and meat. Each bag includes a variety of vegetables, a dozen eggs, and one meat (whole chicken, pork, or beef)

Shares will be picked up every Friday 9 am – 5 pm and Saturday 9 am – 1 pm at Earthperks Organic Farm and Garden Supply in Rutherfordton, NC.
When you subscribe to our CSA program, you become a member/shareholder of Plateful CSA. Memberships require a commitment from both farmers and members. In this way, members share in both the risks and the benefits with the farmers. This may mean that some weeks there is an abundance of produce and others there may be less due to fluctuations in nature. But rest assured the Plateful farmers go above and beyond the call of duty to provide.

The first share will be available October 5th and continue through December 12th

Throughout the season, Plateful farmers will have additional produce and meats available for sale.

Because so many travel during the holiday, we will not provide a share the week of Thanksgiving.

We would love to be a part of your special meals. Please consider us in your grocery shopping and
contact us for special orders.

The Plateful Farmers are hosting an Orientation Potluck at Earthperks the week of the first share. Mark your calenders for Saturday, October 6thMeet the family farms you support!

Earth Day Potluck, April 22

Thanks to all who made it to the first CSA potluck of the season.  No surprise that we enjoyed a wonderful spread of fresh fare.  While the adults enjoyed their food and drink, the biggest hit with the kids was the straw covering the ground.  It's good to be reminded that thrills can be found anywhere!  We all sampled some delicious dishes that we'd like to try again- please post your recipes on this page as a comment.  We look forward to seeing you all again soon!

What it means...

When you become a member of Plateful CSA, we hope you will gain a better understanding of where your food comes from, how it is produced, why it is healthier for you and the environment , and the role that small farms can play in our lives.
Small scale farms face many challenges in today's industrialized, agricultural food system. However, we believe with community support, small farms can survive and succeed, ensuring a better quality of life and a healthier plateful of food for all.
