Announcing Plateful Spring 2012: 

A Multi-Farm CSA

How it Works...

• Plateful's Spring CSA subscription fee is a non-refundable $550 for 16 weeks of produce, eggs and meat.
• We estimate each bag will feed approximately 2–3 people 3-5 days per week. 
• Each bag includes a variety of vegetables, a dozen eggs, and one meat (whole chicken, pork, beef, or lamb)
• Shares will be picked up every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm at Earthperks Organic Farm and Garden Supply in  Rutherfordton, NC.

When you subscribe to our CSA program, you become a member/shareholder of Plateful CSA. Memberships require a commitment from both farmers and members. In this way, members share in both the risks and the benefits with the farmers. This may mean that some weeks there is an abundance of produce and others there may be less due to fluctuations in nature. But rest assured the Plateful farmers go above and beyond the call of duty to provide.

The first share will be available April 19th and continue through August 9th.  Throughout the season, Plateful farmers will have additional produce and meats available for sale. We would love to be a part of your special meals. Please consider us in your grocery shopping and contact us for special orders.

The Plateful Farmers are hosting an Orientation Potluck at Earthperks the week of the first share. Mark your calenders for Saturday, April 21st. Meet the family farms you support! We'll also host a day of farm tours in the summer.

     When you become a member of Plateful CSA, we hope you will gain a better understanding of where your food comes from, how it is produced, why it is healthier for you and the environment , and the role that small farms can play in our lives.
     Small scale farms face many challenges in today's industrialized, agricultural food system. However, we believe with community support, small farms can survive and succeed, ensuring a better quality of life and a healthier plateful of food for all.
